Listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, Belvès, the village with seven bell towers, has a magnificent old town! What makes it special? 6 meters underground, under the covered market, you can visit 8 troglodytic dwellings to discover the daily life of the farmers who occupied the site 800 years ago.On Wednesday evenings, you can take part in the gourmet market, while the market is held on Saturday mornings.This beautiful bastide is 10 minutes from the Gîte du Got and Monpazier.

Just 10 minutes from Domaine du Got, Monpazier is one of the Périgord Noir's emblematic English bastides (and our favorite). With its Carreyrous, flower-filled streets and stores of all kinds, it's home to a multitude of craftsmen, artists and restaurants that will enchant your day. Although not very large, it has nonetheless charmed film-makers from all over the world, and has been the location for several films, most recently Ridley Scott's "The Last Duel" starring Matt Damon.Monpazier is ideal for short walks around Mazeyrolles.

Established in 1994, Ferme Richard Galtier produces fattened ducks on the family farm. They're in Mazeyrolles all year round, so you might as well walk from the Gîte.They'll be happy to show you around their facilities, and their small store will delight all duck and Périgord product enthusiasts.

Château de Biron is one of the jewels of the Périgord not to be missed during your stay in the Dordogne, and it's right next door to Domaine du Got!Just 18 km (18 min by car) from the gîte, this magnificent chateau is a great local place to visit. It also offers numerous art exhibitions and a rich musical program.

The Châteaux Valley is home to some of the Dordogne's most emblematic villages and châteaux. Among the best-known are : La Roque-Gageac, Château de Castelnaud, Les Milandes, Beynac and Domme.Admittedly, these are a little further away from the Domaine du Got (around 30 km), but they're not to be missed!NB: Beautiful often rhymes with touristy. We therefore recommend avoiding weekend visits.

Here, canoeing is everywhere! So how do you choose?We offer two options:- Roquegeoffre canoes: Follow the course of the Dordogne and admire emblematic villages and castles like Beynac and Castelneau from the river.- Aquafun at Limeuil: Although wilder, the Vézère is no less beautiful. Set off from Les Eyzies for breathtaking scenery.NB: Beware of sunburn! Depart before 10 a.m.

Far away from tourism, villages and castles, in the middle of the woods, lies a very, very, very large chestnut tree. This walk through the Perigordian woods is just 20 minutes from Mazeyrolles, and features three-hundred-year-old trees with branches the size of trees. A little tricky to find, we advise you to leave the car by the roadside and continue on foot through the woods, following the yellow signs (or use your GPS). It's a magnificent spot that's impossible to miss.

Instead of shopping at the supermarket, why not visit one of the local markets? From the small market in Le Got to the super flower market in Villeréal, there's something for everyone. And if you're in the mood for local cuisine and a bit of music, try the "marché gourmand". You'll find them every evening in different villages.

A little further north of Mazeyrolles, following Le Bugue, you'll find the Proumeyssac chasm. Nicknamed "the Crystal Cathedral", this magnificent chasm is not only impressive and instructive, it's also very cool. In fact, the 14°C of the Gouffre are very welcome during the heatwave. You can descend in the traditional way or with a gondola. The choice is yours!
